    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    Course Description:

The Gaylord Gauntlet 5k & Obstacle race is an annual event held each June on the grounds of Gaylord Specialty Healthcare / Gaylord Hospital, 50 Gaylord Farm Rd., in Wallingford, Connecticut. The hospital’s 300 rural acres provide the setting for 24+ obstacles that include mud, fire, and water. All proceeds from this event go to support the Gaylord Sports Association which provides opportunities for individuals with physical or visual disabilities to participate in a variety of sports. The course can be done at your own pace and runners are sent out in waves. There are showers and changing facilities as well as a food area and plenty of room for observers and runners to mingle and enjoy the day. Join us for an amazing day of fun and challenge!

    RACE AID

  • There will be hospital staff available at a First Aid area for minor injury help and EMS will be onsite assuming they are not in transport.

  • We provide water at the start, two stations on the course and again at the finish line. Spectators may bring water, but otherwise beverages will be available to all for purchase in the Festival Area.

  • Showers and towels are provided near the changing area.
  • SPECTATORS

  • FREE. Able to view from the Festival area and the Start/Finish Lines. For safety they are not allowed in the race course itself. All are welcome to stay for food, music and fun.
  • PARKING

  • FREE parking on campus.
  • AFTER PARTY

  • Multiple food trucks for varying appetites and tastes will be present.

  • There will also be health-related booths that may be of interest to athletes.

  • There is a “Kids’ Obstacle Course”. Children ages 5-11 who are accompanied by an adult can run through several age-appropriate obstacles from the Festival Area to the Slippery Slide. As space allows, the kids can then go down the slide.
